Homeowner Association (HOA)
HOAs, also known as “community associations,” are institutions set up to self-regulate groups of homes or neighborhoods.
The fact is, 29 percent of the U.S. population lives in an HOA. Of all the new homes sold in 2022, 82% had HOAs. However, many Americans have grown to dislike them.
Many HOAs issue aggressive and ruthless fines to homeowners. The majority of HOAs hire professional companies to handle their day-to-day needs. The management companies of HOAs are incentivized to fine homeowners as much as they can. They get to set the rules and also enforce them. Unfortunately, no state agency in Texas regulates home or property owners’ associations.
Failing to pay HOA fines usually comes with penalties and interests. Once lawyers are involved, the fees can be astronomical. In the worst-case scenario, HOAs can place liens on you home and foreclose.
We are here to help. We will listen closely and stop the bleeding, or even annul the fines entirely.
